It’s a new year, and time for a new, revamped web site. Our old site served us well for a decade, but the world of technology has moved on, and so must we!
Over the years we’ve been the recipient of donated services through the TechSoup organization. They’ve provided technology we’ve used for RaG-ZA’s Chaplaincy Database, and we now use SalesForce.com to manage our donors. QuickBooks On-Line is our accounting system, and we manage short-term teams using Managed Missions.
Almost all of these functions were part of the back-end of our original web site, and each one has since been replaced by these software-as-a-service products that we’ve been able to use at substantial discounts.
This new site is based on WordPress, and includes an integrated Blog, so the previous blog we used to report on trips is also a thing of the past. I guess all things must someday come to an end.
Well, not all things. There are still millions of kids in Africa who live in desperation and hopelessness. Radical Islam and civil strife has devastated some nations, leaving children in poverty, living in violence, and having no hope for anything better.
So that is why we continue to partner with organizations who are on the ground, reaching these millions of kids with fresh water, mentoring, and the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
So technology can change. Politics can change. Economies can change. But our commitment to bring hope to Africa’s children has not, and will not change.
Let us know what you think about the updated web site. (It’s liable to be around for 10 years or more!)
